Our first Sussex Spaniel was Ch Sunfire Where T Heckawi (Sam) – bred by P Grutzner from Victoria, Australia. From his debut appearance in the show ring where he won Best Baby in the Gundog Group, Sam has been consistently successful including winning RUBIG at an all-breeds championship show at the young age of 14 months. Sam was also Best Rarer Gundog Spaniel at the 2008 Adelaide Royal Show. Sam won BEST IN SHOW at the Gundog Club of SA 50th Anniversary Championship Show. The breed judge was Mr J Hodgkinson (Canada) and the BIS judge was Mrs J Hodgkinson (Can).
